Chef Karen, locally known as Chet Kutie - Memphis Culinary Trailblazer & Flavor Innovator Chef Kutie, founder and executive chef of Kutie Pies Catering and Kutie Pies Bakery Cate, is a proud Memphis native and Navy veteran whose culinary journey was sparked by generations of family tradition. From Sunday soul food dinners with her mother to baking with her grandmother using homegrown fruit preserves, Chet Kutie has always cooked from the heart-with soul, style, and purpose. Since opening her catering company in 2014, she has become a driving force in Memphis culinary scene known for bold Southern flavors, artistic presentations, and community impact. As the first Black-owned bakery café in Southaven, MS, Chet Kutie continues to break barriers and create opportunities- especially through her nonprofit, The A.Z.A.L.E.A. Women's Foundation, and Kutie's Kids Culinary Camp, which empowers the next generation of young chefs. Whether serving at production sets, corporate events, or private dinners, her signature dishes-like her signature sandwich The Memphis “ Toddy” Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich mango chipotle sauce and her famous "Lawd Have Mercy" glaze and crumb toppings- reflect her commitment to excellence and cultural flavor.
