California Almonds Take the Spotlight in World Food Championships’ Global Culinary Showdown at ANUGA 2025

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – (June 26, 2025) – The World Food Championships (WFC) is proud to announce a delicious new partnership with the Almond Board of California, who will take center stage during the Flavor Fusion Culinary Showdown at the 2025 ANUGA Food Fair in Cologne, Germany. Monday, October 6, has been designated California Almonds Day, featuring almond-based products throughout the entire day’s activities.

California Almonds Day will showcase the versatility, nutrition, and premium quality of almond products grown in the Golden State through live culinary contests, product sampling, education, and more. At the heart of this flavorful experience are three head-to-head culinary competitions, where competitors will be required to feature California Almond products in their dishes. From almond butter to almond flour, competitors will be challenged to elevate almonds through innovative, globally inspired winning recipes.

Beyond the competition itself, California Almonds will enjoy a full day of branded visibility and audience engagement opportunities, including:

  • Premium California Almond product displays and branded kitchen integration
  • Snack-pack sampling and brochure distribution led by California Almonds staff
  • Curated emcee educational content spotlighting California Almond products throughout the day
  • Reserved judging seats for esteemed guests to dive into the action, engaging in the complete experience

In addition to its starring role on October 6, California Almonds will integrate their products into the Jr. Chef competition on opening day, helping to further educate and inspire the next generation of culinary leaders.

It’s going to be a memorable and flavorful day.”

The Flavor Fusion Culinary Showdown is a public-private partnership between WFC, the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA), and the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service in Berlin. With over 7,900 exhibitors and more than 140,000 trade visitors from 200 countries, ANUGA offers an unparallelled opportunity to showcase the diversity, nutrition, and innovation of U.S.-grown products, such as California Almonds.

The Flavor Fusion Culinary Showdown will feature US exhibitor products throughout the five-day show. With a rich history dating back to 1919, ANUGA has evolved into the premier international food fair, with a unique blend of heritage and innovation. WFC’s presence underscores the growing international recognition of Food Sport as a dynamic and competitive culinary platform.
